About the role

Responsibilities

  • Supervise dockside sampling staff
  • Collect and edit recreational and commercial salmon, halibut, lingcod, marine fish, and shellfish biological and catch data
  • Implement the region's fisheries sampling program
  • Provide the information necessary to estimate fisheries catch and effort for both commercial and recreational fisheries management
  • Assess biological information by stock
  • Achieve spawning escapements and agreed-to catch allocations

Requirements

  • Graduation from high school or GED including one year of high school science
  • Four (4) years of experience as a Scientific Technician
  • Graduation from high school or GED including one year of high school science
  • Four (4) years of laboratory or field experience as an assistant to a health or safety professional, biologist, chemist, or zoologist
