About the role
The Attorney General’s Office is recruiting for a permanent full-time AGO Senior Investigator/Analyst Supervisor in the Medicaid Fraud & Abuse Division. This position is located in Olympia, Washington, and is represented by the Washington Federation of State Employees (WFSE).
Responsibilities
- Investigating and coordinating highly complex civil and criminal healthcare fraud
- Creating investigative plans and participating as a team member on assigned cases
- Leading multi-jurisdictional investigations
- Developing sources of information relating to Medicaid fraud and abuse
- Executing search warrants and collecting, preserving, and handling evidence
- Conducting criminal and civil interviews
- Preparing written reports, affidavits, and other investigative documents
- Serving as a subject matter expert in civil and criminal healthcare fraud investigations
- Coordinating with various Medicaid fraud and long-term care abuse and neglect task forces and working groups
- Developing, promoting, and providing guidance, education, and awareness on Medicaid fraud and abuse
- Identifying, seeking out, and participating in key stakeholder relationships and other multi-jurisdictional investigative task force/working groups
- Establishing and maintaining good working relationships with administrative agencies and law enforcement
- Acting as a liaison with those agencies to ensure the referral of and requests for assistance and training regarding suspected fraud and abuse violations
- Identifying and leading organizational improvement projects
- Developing a strategy to implement and measure the effectiveness of the project
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree and ten years of experience conducting investigations
- Five years experience as an AGO Senior Investigator/Analyst
- Authority to independently plan and conduct investigations in civil or criminal cases
- Supervision of investigators
- Expert-level experience in healthcare fraud investigations
- Knowledge of federal, local, and Washington State law enforcement agencies
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines
